We are seeking young and senior professionals for the Panama lock complex-project. The Panamanian authorities have stated that they wish to expand the Panama Canal for economic reasons.
At its narrowest point the old canal is 33.5 metres wide and is therefore only just accessible to Panamax ships. Post-Panamax ships cannot pass through here. The new locks will in fact be able to take Post-Panamax ships from 2014.
The projects starts in September 2009 and the design must be ready by the end of 2010. In 2014 the locks must be ready to take shipping.
