Is Iv-Groep a good place for non-technical people to work?
Certainly! There are many development opportunities within lv-Groep. It's a growing organisation with ample opportunities for people willing to take responsibility and use their own initiative. As a business economist, I find this very appealing and enlightening, because you can reach the heart of the company. So yes, lv-Groep offers challenges for ambitious non-technical personnel.
Do you have an affinity for technology?
What appeals to me most at lv-Groep is the passion people have for their field of work: engineering. This passion is in evidence everywhere and comes to the fore very clearly in the talks that you have. The enthusiasm displayed by my colleagues is contagious. It is truly exciting to be part of this fascinating new world.
How has your career at Iv-Groep panned out so far?
After completing my business economics studies, I started out in the marketing department. In this job I had frequent contacts with colleagues throughout the group and got to know the organisation well. The Marketing department is a hive of activity where many things are unfolding due to the enormous growth of Iv-Groep. To be honest the same holds true for all HQ departments. Right now I am Accounts Payable Team Leader at the Finance and Accounting department. I am responsible for processing incoming invoices for lv-Groep and for optimising this process. For example, the automation needs to be improved still further to make sure that all invoices throughout the organisation will be signed off electronically by all procurement officers and board members. This is a complex task that I can really sink my teeth into. It is satisfying to make the internal organisation as efficient as possible, enabling everything to run smoothly at the front-end of the company. As soon as this process is up and running there will no doubt be new challenges to tackle. Iv-Groep is growing and there is plenty of action!
How did you end up at lv-Groep?
After graduating early in 2008, I applied to lv-Groep through a temporary employment agency. At the time it was perhaps not a conscious decision to work for lv-Groep, but it certainly was a conscious decision to stay here! This field is very interesting and the employee benefits are good. The flexible working hours are a bonus, making it a lot easier to juggle work and family.
‘”What I find awesome in lv-Groep is the passion that people have for their profession.”
