Construction activities can affect the direct surroundings and cause disturbances below ground level. Examples of disturbances are deformations, vibrations and noise. In order to determine whether the activities could cause damage or nuisance, measurements are carried out. Measurements are reported either manually or automatically. Automatic measurements are combined with online reporting.
Monitoring the environment entails much more than just measuring and presenting the results. Iv-Groep believes that good monitoring should include a reliable risk analysis, a damage prediction and monitoring plan, and a correct interpretation of the measurement data.
We carry out the following monitoring activities:
- Building and infrastructure deformation measurements, using accurate state of the art surveying equipment;
- Geotechnical monitoring; identifying horizontal and vertical deformations in the ground, water tension and ground pressure, and measurements of ground water quantity give an indication of sub-surface changes and construction excavation stability;
- Vibration measurements to prevent damage to buildings or nuisance to the surroundings; Noise level measurements to prevent nuisance or monitor construction or infrastructural noise.
