Managing civil engineering works requires knowledge and experience of performing inspections, drawing up improvement proposals and making preparations. This is precisely why clients opt for Iv-Infra. Reports are provided as part of the contract with the client.

The establishment of cooperation with Groenestein Beheersoftware has made it possible to process data in an environment for the entirety of public space. 

Oceanco has commissioned Iv-Consult to design a new dry dock. In the future Oceanco intends to build yachts with lengths exceeding 100 metres. To do so the company is going to have a dry dock about 150 metres long built alongside the existing factory. The scope of Iv-Consult's work stretches from the preliminary design to the tender documents for the dry dock including its gates.

The first registered designer and engineers of Iv-Groep were sworn in at a ceremony in the auditorium of the Delft University of Technology on Tuesday, 14 September 2010.

The Dutch Society of Registered Engineers (Constructeursregister RC/RO) assesses the professional proficiency of structural engineers and promotes the development of engineering expertise. Registered engineers are acknowledged as the leading professionals in civil and structural engineering and possess proven knowledge and skills.

Marius Molenaar and Arjan de Wit of Iv-Consult were formally sworn in as registered engineers and Ad van den Dool of Iv-Consult as a registered designer. John Teunissen and Peter de Bliek of Iv-Bouw were also sworn in as registered engineers.
Several other Iv-Groep staff members are candidate members. They will be officially entered in the register of registered engineers at the next swearing-in ceremony in October this year.

The City of Amsterdam will sign a framework contract with Iv-Infra for engineering services. The contract is for the provision of call-off multidisciplinary civil engineering services for the preparation and supervision of maintenance and refurbishment of public spaces in various parts of the city. These include the newly formed districts of North, West, New West, Centre, East, South and South-East and the municipal engineering and traffic & transport departments represented by the South-East District Council in its capacity as the client.

The contract includes a few dozen jobs with a total value of approximately €80,000 per year for each participating municipal entity.

The services are distributed across the traffic, environment, greening, road construction, hydraulic engineering, geotechnics/foundations, licences & procedures and renovations.

The Minister of Transport, Public Works and Water Management instructed the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management (Rijkswaterstaat) to put up safety screens on bridges over motorways to stop vandals from throwing down stones and other heavy objects on to passing vehicles.

Iv-Consult opened a new office at Almere in the Netherlands on 1 August 2010. It is the firm's third office alongside the existing head office at Papendrecht in the Netherlands and the branch at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In consultation with the management of the mechanical engineering firm, Iv-Consult took over almost all engineers to reinforce and complement its mechanical engineering department at Papendrecht.

Mammoet will put two new super heavy lift cranes into service in 2011. These new generation cranes have a reach of more than 200 metres and a load moment three to four times higher than the present generation of cranes. Mammoet is responsible for the design and Iv-Consult for most of the engineering.

The Delfland District Water Board (Hoogheemraadschap Delfland) had to contend with serious flooding in 1998 and decided to take measures to prevent a recurrence. The engineering measures include increasing the capacity of pumping stations, while spatial measures include reserving space for rapid temporary water storage in wet periods.

The measures will be implemented over a three-year period by four providers of engineering consultancy services. The four firms have each signed a framework agreement with the district water board. They were selected following a European call for tenders.

Together with engineering firms BCC and Lievense, Iv-Water participated successfully in the European tendering procedure as a consortium called EMERGO.

The South Holland provincial government (Provincie Zuid-Holland) has signed a framework agreement with Iv-Infra, cementing a relationship that goes beyond the traditional client-contractor roles and assigns pivotal importance to partnership and cooperation. The framework agreement covers numerous fields and types of infrastructure work. The activities can be anything from a study or project all the way through to management.

Iv-Infra signed up for lot 1 (civil engineering) and for lot 2 (forecasts and planning studies). The procurement volume for lot 1 comes to approximately €8,500,000 per year and for lot 2 it is €4,000,000 per year. The term of the master contract is two years, with a two-year renewal.

Corrosion was detected around the reducers in the cooling system of the Petten nuclear power station during an inspection in 2008. It was concluded that the corrosion would eventually result in leaks. The reducers had to be repaired or replaced to prevent leakage.

Over the coming three years the Iv-Infra/Advin consortium will carry out numerous kinds of work for Rijkswaterstaat (the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management) under a framework agreement with an option for renewal by one year at most.
The work falls under the geo-information product and services lot for which Iv-Infra/Advin successfully tendered. When awarding the contract the client examined the extent to which prospective contractors satisfied criteria such as quality and controllability.

Zwijndrecht/Papendrecht, the Netherlands, 28 April 2010 – Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) and Iv-Groep today announced an agreement under which Iv-Groep will take over the business activities of HFG's subsidiary HFG Engineering US (HFGE) on 1 May 2010. HFG Engineering US is an internationally operating company that provides engineering services to the oil and gas industry and has offices in Houston and New Orleans.

Acquisition of HFG Engineering US will enable Iv-Groep to strengthen its position in the American market. HFG Engineering US provides worldwide engineering services to clients in the onshore and offshore oil & gas industry, offshore wind energy, biofuels and tar sands. The transfer will create opportunities for Iv-Groep to enhance its current activities in the United States in such fields as the infrastructure market.

Iv-Infra signed a framework agreement with the Rotterdam Municipal Works Department on March 29 2010 for the provision of engineering services. The contract is for two years with the possibility of renewal for a further two years. The agreement covers four lots of work: road construction and furnishing of public spaces; hydraulic engineering; civil engineering works; mechanical/electrical engineering.

The contract is worth €800,000 over the coming two years. Iv-Infra has already been awarded the first contracts.

Iv-Infra won the contract for the RINK 2010 project in January. RINK is a Dutch acronym for risk analysis of wet civil engineering works. The contract covers sixteen assets (dams, locks and bridges) that are located in the corridor of the Meuse River and managed by the Limburg regional department of the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management.
The work includes drawing up an integral RAMS analysis. The changing conditions – such as new standards, heavier ships/propeller radii and higher river outflows – and the ageing of civil engineering works already dozens of years old will be identified by means of comprehensive inspections and structural analyses. The RAMS analyses will serve as input for the management of assets by the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management.

The Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management (Rijkswaterstaat) announced year-end 2009 that it had awarded the consortium De Utrechtse Tulp (consisting of Vialis/KWS/van Hattum and Blankevoort, all part of VolkerWessels, and Mourik) a contract for work on the A27 motorway between Everdingen and Rijnsweerd and the A28 between Utrecht and Amersfoort. Iv-Infra has been subcontracted to perform various kinds of work.
Inconvenience will be minimised by combining the work on the two motorways and having it performed by a single consortium. The awarding of this contract is another step in the Dutch government's programme for urgently tackling three of thirty major bottlenecks in the country's road network. Work is due to start spring 2010 and finish in spring 2013.
