A ship lift is a large platform which, with the help of winches, sinks below water level in order to allow ships to be positioned above it. The platform is then, together with the ship, raised out of the water up to quay level. When raised like this the ship can then be driven across the yard by means of a transportation system. Subsequently the ship can be parked at a maintenance or parking location.
MYLS
The ’Mega Yachting Lifting Systems‘ – MYLS for short – are an exception. They consist of a series of standard, relatively small lifting systems designed especially for handling luxury mega-yachts. Capacities vary between 750 tonnes and 2000 tonnes, which means they fill the gap between a boat lift (normally max. 700 tons) and the standard shiplifts.
