Maasvlakte Euromax
Maasvlakte Euromax

The new Euromax Container Terminal is a joint venture established by ECT and P&O Nedlloyd, located in the north-west of the Maasvlakte area in Rotterdam (the Netherlands). The terminal is being equipped with the latest technology for container storage and transhipment, including AGVs ('Automatic Guided Vehicles').
The unmanned AGV automatically moves the container to the stack where it must be stored. On arrival at the stack, the container is lifted by an ASC ('Automatic Stacking Crane') on to the stack.
This new terminal will enable Euromax to keep pace with the greatly increased worldwide growth in container transport. The terminal will be expanded in the future to tie in with the Maasvlakte II project currently under construction.
To create this terminal Euromax ordered 76 cranes from Chinese company 'ZPMC' in Shanghai. The mechanical engineering department at Iv-Consult technically evaluated the cranes. As part of this work Iv-Consult evaluated the crane stock on the quay.
