Maasvlakte ECT
Maasvlakte ECT

Rotterdam company ECT is the largest container terminal operator in Europe. ECT processes around three-quarters of all the containers that pass through the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands. The ECT terminals are open all-year round, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
Almost all containers are transported at ECT by unmanned AGVs ('Automatic Guided Vehicles') controlled by a central computer. A quay crane places the container on the AGV, which then automatically drives it to its place in the stack, where the container is correctly positioned by an ASC ('Automated Stacking Crane').

A high-tech company like ECT is constantly developing. To keep all its mobile equipment at state-of-the-art level, ECT called upon the expertise of the mechanical engineering department at Iv-Consult.
