Charles de Gaulle terminal
Charles de Gaulle terminal

Charles de Gaulle Airport's latest terminal is a complex building with a huge transfer area, gates for several types of aircraft, a duty free shopping zone and several levels of transportation areas.

Stringent quality requirements apply to a national airport of this size and stature. The architectural design had to be state of the art and the terminal had to be suitable for current aircraft and also a new generation of planes with multi-level access like the Airbus 380. The architect wanted the steel structures of this major development to look bright and slender and it proved to be a challenging task. Moreover, the project required complex planning because the processes of architectural design and construction work ran simultaneously.

Iv-Consult was commissioned for the preliminary design, detailed design and detailed calculations for all steel structures.
